A pupil of Providence Heights Secondary School, Fagba, Lagos, Abhulimhen Caleb, has won two competitions held in the state.
Caleb, who came first in the senior category of the Cowbell Mathematics Competition held recently, also dazzled at the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Quiz competition.
Caleb, who will be representing Lagos State in the national level senior category of the Cowbell Mathematics competition in July, was rewarded with a certificate and cash prize of N25,000.
The NNPC quiz competition covered subjects such as Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Caleb and the first and second runners-up who constituted the Lagos State team, also won in the South West Zonal level of the competition held in Osogbo, Osun State in May. The trio beat Ogun, Osun, Ekiti, Ondo and Oyo states to emerge winner of the South west Zone.
Speaking on his achievement, the Senior Secondary School II pupil said, “This is a dream come true. I have to thank God for this honour. I promise to continue to work hard and make my school, parents and nation proud,” he said.
